Greg Lindsey To Move to Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs

Greg Lindsey, Professor and Associate Dean with the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IUPUI, is resigning his positions and joining the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Lindsey will assume his new position as Associate Dean at the Institute on August 1.

"Since assuming responsibilities as associate dean for SPEA at IUPUI in 2004, Greg Lindsey has recruited new faculty in strategic areas, provided incentives to enhance faculty excellence, maintained and initiated strong academic programs, and built school spirit and pride," said IUPUI Chancellor Charles R. Bantz. "With his leadership, SPEA led the IUPUI campus for the third time in the past six years in external research dollars per full-time academic appointment. In addition to his administrative leadership, Greg has been one of the best exemplars of IUPUI's traditions of civic engagement and translational research. Greg Lindsey will be very much missed at IUPUI, but we understand the strong attraction the position at Minnesota holds for him."

In a note to colleagues, Lindsey wrote, "I have worked closely with many of you in a variety of different ways over the past 17 years. I want to thank you for your collegiality, friendship, and support, especially during the last four and one-half years during my tenure as Associate Dean. You made IUPUI a special place: a great and growing institution with a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit, a conscience, and a commitment to service. Our mission is a noble one, worthy of great commitment and sacrifice, and your efforts to build IUPUI have inspired me. I am honored and proud to have served with you."

Lindsey will serve as both chief academic officer and chief research officer of the Institute.
