IUPUI International Festival Features Ethnic Dress Competition, Photo Contest, Parade of Nations
The fourth annual IUPUI International Festival offers the opportunity to experience the vibrant and growing international identity of the campus.
The International Festival will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Campus Center, Room 450. It is free and open to the public.
Participants are encouraged to wear traditional clothing of a country visited, country of heritage, or a country they'd like to someday visit and enter the best-dressed contest for a chance to win a $25 gift card from the Jags Bookstore. Categories are student, staff, and faculty. The student organization with the most entrants will win $50. Contestants should check in with the judges' table at any time between 10 and 2.
Activities will include international music and dance, a photography exhibit by IUPUI Study Abroad students, a best-dressed contest, interactive displays and information tables and free samples of ethnic cuisine and sweets donated by Greek Islands, The Rathskeller, and Endangered Species Chocolate Company.
Performances will include the Russian Speaking Student Association, the Indianapolis Chinese Performing Arts, Inc., and the Persian dance troupe Aftab.

Products from Global Gifts and the IMANI workshops in Kenya will be available for sale in the Fair Trade Expo in room 405.
