Herron Welcomes Indianapolis Art Collector, Journalist and Author Michael K. Corbin

Join Michael K. Corbin as he lectures about the connection between art collecting, life and emerging artists. He will share advice for art enthusiasts and emerging artists, as well as photographs of art from his own collection. Also, Corbin will talk about his new book, "The Art of Everyday Joe: A Collector's Journal," at the Herron School of Art & Design on Tuesday, February 26 at 11:30am in the Basile Auditorium, 735 West New York Street, Indianapolis. An informal Q & A will follow the lecture, which is free and open to the public.

"So many people out there don't even know that art is readily available to them," says Corbin. "I want them to know that art isn't just a commodity, but an experience that everyone should be able to share regardless of income, culture or social status."

Corbin's first book, "Art In King Size Beds: A Collector's Journal," which also addressing the topic of art collecting, was published by AuthorHouse Inc. in the fall of 2006. A New York City native, Corbin is a full-time broadcast journalist and when he isn't working, travels far and wide for art's sake.
