Law Professor Named Chair-Elect for Association of Law Schools Section

During its annual conference held in January in New York, the American Association of Law Schools (AALS) appointed IU School of Law-Indianapolis Associate Professor Lloyd T. "Tom" Wilson chair-elect of the AALS Real Estate Transactions Section.

Wilson teaches real estate transfer; finance and development; land use and zoning; and contracts at the IU School of Law-Indianapolis which is located on the IUPUI campus.

Wilson is also a faculty advisor for the law school's LL.M. in American Law for Foreign Lawyers program and serves on the board of directors for Center for International & Comparative Law at the school.

According to AALS by-laws, the Real Estate Transactions Section's roles include providing a forum for professors who teach courses relating to real estate transactions; assisting professors in developing course materials and pedagogical perspectives; and enhancing scholarship, thereby, providing opportunities for professors to receive recognition for their research and writing regarding real estate related legal issues and practice.

Wilson previously served as treasurer and secretary of the AALS section. He will assume his post as chair in January 2009.
