Yuanshun Dai

Yuanshun S. Dai - Assistant Professor of Computer and Information Science. Dai is an expert in cybersecurity and medical information systems. Dai and Xukai Zou, also an assistant professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science, have developed an Internet-based medical information system, which they believe can help propel health care into the hi-tech age, save lives and cut costs. The "Secure and Reliable Health Information System" has been tested by a veterans' administration hospital and solves the critical problems of security, reliability and data integration that have stymied previous attempts to develop an electronic health information system.

Kathleen Marrs

Kathleen A. Marrs - Associate Professor of Biology. Marrs is an expert in biology and science education. She is developing ways to reinforce the content to which students are exposed during lecture, to help students develop the intellectual skills needed to understand the scientific process and to establish connections concerning the relationship of biology to society. She is implementing a web-based, interactive method for teaching known as the "Just-in-Time" biology curriculum.
