Herron’s Spectrum Group Exhibits at the Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration

July 16, 2008 — Herron School of Art and Design is proud to announce that our diversity-based student group Spectrum will participate in the 38th annual Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration. This is Spectrum's fifth consecutive exhibition as part of IBE's Cultural Arts Pavilion. Herron students and alumni will exhibit alongside institutions such as the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, Indianapolis Art Center, and others.   Full Story

Judith Shea’s Job sculpture to be permanently installed at Herron

June 20, 2008 — Job (2005) by artist Judith Shea (b. 1948) will be permanently installed at Herron School of Art and Design in June. The 75" x 38" x 30" bronze sculpture will be on display in the Allen Whitehill Clowes Pavilion at Herron's main entrance on New York Street.   Full Story

HERRON SUMMER PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION: PARALLEL INTERFACE

June 5, 2008 — "Parallel Interface" combines photographic processes from the past to the present to produce a stimulating exhibition sure to impress. You are invited to the closing reception on Friday, June 20th from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm in Herron's Photography lower level gallery 003, 735 West New York Street on the campus of IUPUI. Herron School of Art and Design to Install Jill Viney Work

May 6, 2008 — Herron School of Art and Design will install New York Artist Jill Viney's "Barrow" at the northeast entrance to Eskenazi Hall. The piece will be on display at Herron School of Art and Design for two years.   Full Story

Herron Welcomes Indianapolis Art Collector, Journalist and Author Michael K. Corbin

Feb. 22, 2008 — Join Michael K. Corbin as he lectures about the connection between art collecting, life and emerging artists. He will share advice for art enthusiasts and emerging artists, as well as photographs of art from his own collection. Also, Corbin will talk about his new book, "The Art of Everyday Joe: A Collector's Journal," at the Herron School of Art & Design on Tuesday, February 26 at 11:30am in the Basile Auditorium, 735 West New York Street, Indianapolis. An informal Q & A will follow the lecture, which is free and open to the public.   Full Story
