2008 — The Carnegie Corporation of New York has named IUPUI professor Edward Curtis a Carnegie Scholar. The Corporation will provide Curtis with a grant of approximately $100,000 to study African American Muslim connections to foreign Muslims and Islamic institutions in Muslim countries.
