2008 — Pratibha Varma-Nelson, Professor of Chemistry and Executive Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, has been selected as a recipient of the 2008 James Flack Norris Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Chemistry. She is developing ways to reinforce the content to which students are exposed during lecture, to help students develop the intellectual skills needed to understand the scientific process and to establish connections concerning the relationship of biology to society.
