Gabriel Filippelli

Gabriel M. Filippelli - Chair and Professor of Earth Sciences; Associate Director, IU Center for Environmental Health. Filippelli is an expert in environmental health, including links between lead contamination and blood lead levels of children who live in urban areas. His research looks for ties between the environment and health—and how better understanding of those ties can improve our quality of life. Nationally, Indiana had the seventh highest volume of air and water pollution from industrial sites for the second year in a row.

Lenore Tedesco

Lenore P. Tedesco - Associate Professor of Earth Sciences; Director, IUPUI Center for Earth and Environmental Science. Tedesco is an expert in environmental science, water quality, water resources, wetland and stream restoration and K-12 STEM education. She has developed an autonomous environmental monitoring network that measures water quality throughout central Indiana. Additionally, Tedesco's team has implemented an environmental science education program based on restoration research and environmental monitoring.
